I was at Borders with my girlfriend this afternoon and happened across the September 2005 issue of Sport Compact Car. Not a magazine I commonly purchase, but I flipped through the pages anyway. I bought it after seeing the "Top 10 Cars Under $10k" article, but when I got home, I was also happy to see this...
Not every day you see a fellow TT.NET members car on the pages of Sport Compact Car, so I had to post to say congrats! And as for the "Top 10 Cars Under $10k," I'm sure you can figure out what it consisted of that made me buy the magazine...

Sure, a few facts are wrong. Maybe they meant Twin Turbos are only available in T-Top models in the US. They leave out that the Convertible only came NA, and they only post Twin Turbo specs/statistics. And good luck finding a 1996 TT for $12k. And while the syncros may be problematic on early Z's, I wouldn't go as far to say the entire trans is problematic as they do. Aside from those, I'm rather impressed with this months issue. They have 3 cars you can build for less than $10k that outperform some of the new flagship sportscars. One being a 12 second Dodge Omni with a turbo 2.5L for $3,500 total (including car purchase). A Mitsubishi Mirage that does 411whp for around $5k. And a CRX that does 1.03G's in the skidpad for around $8k including car purchase. If you get bored and want some good reading, this is actually a pretty good magazine.
